Your day‑to‑day and responsibilities:

• Integrate and actively participate in technology consulting transformation projects, with the possibility of coordinating and operationally supervising teams;
• Define the functional and technical architecture of end‑to‑end Appian solutions, ensuring alignment with clients’ enterprise architecture;
• Technically lead BPM and Digital Process Automation initiatives, acting as a technical reference in Appian projects;
• Support critical phases of the project lifecycle, including technical pre‑sales, solution design, estimations and technical planning;
• Define, promote and ensure the adoption of Appian standards, guidelines and best practices;
• Review solution design and implementation developed by teams, ensuring quality, performance and sustainability;
• Support critical decisions related to architecture, integration, data, security and performance;
• Work closely with business and technology areas in enterprise environments, particularly in banking and insurance.

Are you who we are looking for?

Academic qualifications and certifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related field;
• Appian Certified Senior Developer and/or Appian Certified Lead Developer certifications.

Technical skills:

• Between 6 and 8 years of experience in IT, of which at least 4 years in Appian‑related projects;
• Strong experience in end‑to‑end Appian solution architecture, including application design, standards definition, and structuring UI, process, data and integration layers;
• Advanced knowledge of Appian SAIL, Process Models, Records, Data Fabric, Expression Rules and Appian Design Patterns;
• Proven experience in process architecture and orchestration, including complex workflows, human‑in‑the‑loop and straight‑through processing;
• Strong background in systems integration (API‑first architectures, REST/SOAP integrations, Java/.NET backends and legacy systems);
• Experience in Appian data architecture, including persistence strategies, integration with relational databases and appropriate use of Data Fabric vs. external databases;
• In‑depth knowledge of non‑functional requirements;
• Strong knowledge of testing best practices, as well as definition of CI/CD strategies and software promotion in Appian;
• Previous experience in Agile methodologies will be valued.

Other skills:

• Full proficiency in spoken and written English (mandatory);
• Knowledge of additional languages (such as French or German) is valued;
• Knowledge of the financial services industry is valued;
• Strong customer and results orientation;
• Good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills;
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities;
• This position will be based in Deloitte offices in Portugal, under a hybrid working model (mandatory).
