Job Summary:
The Systems Administrators consultants play a crucial role in the management and maintenance of the hole infrastructure, including the datacenter and other services, ensuring its reliability, security, and performance. They are responsible for resolving complex issues while actively optimizing the overall systems infrastructure. Proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the strategic evolution of hole ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
- System administration: Operate in an environment with physical and virtual servers in public and private cloud, working at both the application layer and the network layer. Administration of an environment with multivendor operating systems (preferably Linux, Windows) involving patching and updates, backup systems, monitoring and other infrastructure services such as AD, DNS, DHCP and others. Knowledge of data center operations such as SAN, structured cabling, and data center networking is also important. Successful troubleshooting in complex scenarios often involves collaboration, critical thinking, and leveraging advanced diagnostic tools to ensure quick and accurate problem resolution.
- Virtualization: Experienced on virtualization environments with the common vendors in the market (VMware, HYper-V) with high availability infrastructure (SAN networks, fabric switchs, clusters, storages among others).
- Incident Response: Detect and respond to infrastructure incidents, such as failures, performance degradation, and security breaches, in a timely manner. Diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
- Assessing security of existing environment: Implement and maintain security measures to protect against unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Server administration: Configure and maintain new and existing servers, install and configure the operational system and their services, performing the necessary maintenance to ensure the correct and Improvements to system efficiency.
- Automation / DevOps tools: Implement and work with automations using scripts and tools for optimizing operations.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of configurations and procedures. Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Update/Patch Management: Apply firmware and software updates to the servers and systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and improve network stability and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, including network engineers, cybersecurity experts, and application developers, to address cross-functional issues.
- Emergency Response: Be available for on-call service to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours, if necessary.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, MCSE, CCNA datacenter and others) may be preferred.
- Experience: Typically, more than 5 years of experience in systems administration, datacenter operations or a related area.
- Desirable knowledge: Expert knowledge of servers (physical and virtualized), infrastructure services such as DHCP, DNS, SNMP and others, monitoring tools, operational systems (Windows and Linux), Web servers/application servers and datacenter operations.
- Security Awareness: Familiarity with security best practices, system hardening, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) and backup and replications systems.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze system logs and monitoring data to identify and act proactively on issues to prevent any system unavailability.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting and implementing solutions.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Scripting and Automation: Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools may be advantageous for processes automation.
