Your day-to-day responsibilities: 

Incident Resolution

• Systematically identify, analyse and resolve complex issues within technology infrastructures, restoring optimal functionality.
• Apply advanced knowledge of network protocols, hardware and software to isolate issues, conduct root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with the team and use advanced diagnostic tools to ensure rapid and accurate issue resolution.

Incident Response

• Detect and respond promptly to infrastructure incidents, including outages, performance degradation and security incidents.
• Diagnose and resolve issues to ensure service continuity.

Systems Administration

• Manage environments with both physical and virtual servers across public and private cloud infrastructures.
• Work across application and network layers.
• Administer multivendor operating systems (Linux and Windows), including patching, updates, backups, monitoring and infrastructure services such as Active Directory (AD), DNS and DHCP.

Virtualisation

• Operate virtualisation environments using leading technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
• Ensure high levels of availability through the management of SAN networks, fabric switches, clusters and storage solutions. Security Assessment
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect against unauthorised access and other threats.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Server Management · Configure and maintain servers.
• Install and configure operating systems and related services.
• Perform maintenance activities to enhance system efficiency and performance. 

Are you the one we are looking for? 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g. Azure, AWS, MCSE, CCNA Datacenter) will be considered an advantage.
• More than 8 years of experience in systems administration or datacentre operations.
• Advanced knowledge of physical and virtual servers, infrastructure services (DHCP, DNS, SNMP), monitoring tools and operating systems (Windows and Linux). Familiarity with web/application servers and datacentre operations. Knowledge of cybersecurity practices, including system hardening, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, EDR and backup and replication solutions. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python) and automation tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to incident diagnosis and resolution. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure during emergency situations.
• Lead technical teams in the design, implementation and maintenance of complex systems or networks.
• Guide and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
• Contribute to the development of IT strategies aligned with business objectives.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken).
• Availability to travel as required.
