We are strengthening our EMEA Cyber & Telecommunications Networks (C&TN) area and are looking for a Network Engineer Consultant to support enterprise network and security services for international clients. The technology environment relies primarily on Zscaler, Fortinet and Check Point solutions. Responsibilities:

• Network operations and incidents: Investigate connectivity, performance, and access incidents using monitoring and diagnostic data; restore service, document findings, and escalate complex root-cause investigations.
• Zscaler operations: Use hands-on experience to administer and troubleshoot deployed Zscaler services, including policy checks, user access, traffic flows, and log review (for example, ZIA and/or ZPA, depending on the environment).
• Firewall and VPN support: Support routine policy, NAT, object, and VPN changes on Fortinet FortiGate and/or Check Point platforms. Implement approved changes, validate outcomes, and follow the documented rollback plan.
• Core networking: Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and switching issues; assist with enterprise VPNs and BGP/OSPF operations.
• Monitoring and maintenance: Review service health and performance, identify recurring issues, and assist with planned firmware/software updates and capacity checks.
• Incident response: Follow incident procedures and runbooks, communicate status clearly, and participate in an on-call rotation when required.
• Automation and documentation: Contribute to scripting or API-based operational improvements and maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and support procedures.
• Collaboration: Work with security, systems, and application teams and take part in client discussions to resolve cross-functional network issues.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience: 3–4 years in enterprise network engineering, network administration, or a closely related role.
• Zscaler (required): Practical, hands-on experience supporting Zscaler services in production, including policy administration and troubleshooting of access or traffic issues. Experience with relevant deployed services such as ZIA and/or ZPA is expected.
• Networking: Good working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing and switching, VPNs, and common enterprise network hardware; familiarity with BGP and OSPF.
• Firewalls: Operational experience with Fortinet FortiGate or Check Point firewalls; experience with both is an advantage.
• Operations and tools: Experience with network monitoring/diagnostic tools, ticketing, and formal change processes. Basic Python or other scripting knowledge is an advantage.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA or certifications in Zscaler, Fortinet, or Check Point are preferred, not mandatory.
• Professional skills: Analytical troubleshooting, clear communication, collaborative working, and the ability to remain methodical during incidents.
• Client engagement: Take part in client calls, gather technical context, communicate clear status, and escalate decisions at the right time.
• Solution proposals: Contribute technical input to proposals and service improvements with guidance from senior colleagues.
